| Rob's current kit is a Tama Starclassic Performer, with Birch/Bubinga combination shells. For cymbals he uses a combination of Sabian and Zildjian, with Sabian's HHX series being his prefered sound. He uses various Evans heads and Vic Firth sticks. Rob sets his kit up in an open handed fashion, meaning the hats are not "high" on the kit, more level with his snare drum. This allows him to play the hats with his left hand, "open handed", which is not only more ergonomic but also allows for more creativity around the kit. He has two rides on his full setup, one on his left and one on his right, although when he plays with SomaHigh he usually sets up just the ride on the left. |
